I would not lose sleep worrying about natgas interruption. Sure can happen but would be rare to occur same time as power outage. Even during major hurricanes this area has had natgas supply. Ours is produced locally by ties into distribution systems with multiple feeds. He read though the responses this morning (I haven't had a chance to go through them all but he emailed me this additional info)
[Here's add'l info.
We have a brand new 22kW Generac whole house, natural gas generator. Its transfer switch covers the whole house. Prior to that we had a large, normal gas generator connected to a different transfer switch that just covered around 6 circuits including our well pump, sump pump, and some other "crucial" circuits. We're giving that normal gas one away. We're thinking there might/could be an "interruption" in the natural gas supply (for whatever reason you can imagine) so we want to look into a way to power those fewer circuits somehow. Maybe even wind power BUT we're not going to blow a ton of $$$ on it because we HOPE we'll never need it.
