Started off with piano, then ukulele, then accordion, then clarinet, then guitar, bongos, and choirs in between all. Then discovered the electronic organ where I could play by ear to my heart's content, changing rhythms to popular songs/opera arias, Christmas carols, hymns, etc., making up melodies as they popped into my head, creating medleys, etc. Nothing great, but no need for lessons, practice, etc. What freedom! What fun! :happy
Here's a YouTube video of a Roland VR 09. What an electronic organ can do is limitless.

Can you also lay down tracks, like a looper?

j :D
Well, you've just introduced me to the looper and I've enjoyed hearing the many uses of it online, especially on the Roland VR-09. Seems it would greatly add to the fun I now have and fun is where it's at for me. Do you, or does anyone here, have suggestions on how to find a good combination electronic organ and looper? Costs?

Thanks, Sandtrap!
Yes. "Loopers". You can create your own backing tracks on the fly and then play over them.
I think if you have a "line output" or maybe "external speaker output", can put the "looper" into that chain.

I've had a number of "loopers" over the years.
As I'm a guitar player, the "looper" needs foot switch as my hands are not free. And, the interface is important. And, it must be "solid", not cheap plastic. And, for me, very intuitive (simple minded).
This one is lousy:

These are timeless and most good guitarists will spend the money for it. It will be in most pedalboard floor racks.
Boss anything is very good and very solid. I still have this one.

This one is the "Lexus" of "loopers" for floor use.
Digitech JamMan (gave this one to my son who is excellent at using a looper).

The Boss SC-600 is the Cadillac of loopers. $500+ It was too much for me and there's no way I would use all it's features. I returned it after trying it out.

If you have a pedalboard or similar effects setup/chain, the "looper" goes at the end of the chain. The total effects change according to the order of each, but there's a basic starting order to most depending on the sound wanted on each and overall.
Here's my pedalboard that I only use once in awhile. Notice the "Boss Looper" is on the end before the final output (red unit, lower left). The "chain order" is setup for a smooth jazz sound, similar to "Breezin" by George Benson.

I've seen YouTube videos of a single musician with a keyboard and a guitar, then various units around him, where he's his own one person band. He inputs first drum and various rhythm lines, then plays guitar or keyboard over that. And, invites various musicians in the audience to play or sing with him. It is amazing. Maybe you have a setup like that.

Here's "Dovydas" (hugely popular) on YouTube laying down tracks with his "looper", inviting audience members to come up and sing or play.
"Don't Stop Believing" by Journey (Nashville girl singer, awesome).

"Tennessee Whiskey"" same singer. Beautiful voice. Nice song.
Notice the use of the "looper". Enjoy the song.

As soon as the video started ... I knew I'd seen it before.

Had you introduced to it or another one of Dovydas's other videos in some other forum topic?
