Can you view your 2021 and 2022 transcript? https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

I’m confused. Did you split the refund? You received a refund from the amended return? And you requested a refund be credited to 2022?

The Account Transcript will show the activity. The amended return, the adjustment codes, any refund codes, and any credit elect codes.

Calling the IRS very early, 7 AM might work.

Usually an overpayment should be refunded automatically. It can take 2-4 weeks.
I just tried to review the transcript, but I don't have an ID.me account (I have a login.gov account).

I did not intentionally split the refund. Turbotax did it for me and I didn't notice.

I filled out the Turbotax amended return thinking I was going to get 100% of my refund mailed to me. Upon further review, after I had submitted the amended return, I looked closely at the 1040 Form and saw that Turbotax had requested approx 40% be refunded to me and 60% be applied to my 2022 estimated taxes.

I am assuming Turbotax did this because on the original 2021 filing I had directed all of my original refund to be applied to 2022 estimated taxes. So the amended return remembered this and tried to do the same. It never directly asked me if I wanted to do this. But it was my fault for not looking closely at the whole return... I was focused on the Schedule D that contained the changes that prompted the amended return.

I'll take your advice and wait a month. Calling again at 4am pacific is not on my bucket list.

Thank you.
