Vanguard mostly does not offer a routing number for use at outside banks/brokers as needed for TD.
There is a new acct type but in beta and not open to all at Vanguard, and an option I have no plans to use even when widely available.
What about Cash Plus?
What do you think I meant by “new acct type but in beta” ? Cash plus is NOT available to most Vanguard clients yet.
I thought you meant something else since Cash Plus is available to all Vanguard clients
Well that is a recent development. Just weeks ago the site said login to see if you are eligible, and I was not. For those who want just HYSA, this does seem superior to anything out there (being able to move among mmkt funds and bank fdic with a competitive yield). But the lack of other banking servicer limits utility for me. Also fdic insured interest is taxed more heavily than most of the mmkt fund options (state tax, federal if one considers muni mmkt options). I would not keep much in the fdic balance, so would not use it.
