Personal Consumer Issues • AirPod Max or Bose Quietcomfort Ultra headphones?

bose has excellent anc but buggy unreliable electronics

bose has history of unreliability in later years i have returned 2 of them. Apple has been solid
Thanks for the info. I had the Bose 700s and thought they were incredibly uncomfortable and got rid of them. One of my biggest pet peeves was the Bose app for iPhone. Never seemed to connect or work properly. Do you still need that for the Ultra headphones to work properly?

As unwieldy as the Max'es are with their weird case, they may be the better bet for travel in a full Apple household.
I have the apple airpods pro 2 with excellent anc, etc.
those and the apple airmax headphones automatically sync to the iphon and can be customized in many ways.
IE: I use the airpods pro 2 (rotate 2 pairs) as an assist hearing aid and can tune the frequencies. It's great because I can turn "transparency mode" off with a click on the airpod and the world goes silent with only my soft music playing. Same for the airmax. Perfect in a noisy busy grocery store or other setting.

The bose app for both the headphones and the new earbuds is ancient with little customization on an iphone. It might be different on an android phone and better. I don't know.

I have tried nearly all of the better and best quality headphones with anc and earbuds, etc. Many have some things they do well but compromise all else. For myself, money was not a concern.

I tried and returned everything except for what I use now, nearly 24/7/365. (not occasional use).
for airline travel, airports, etc, headphones with anc is a must.
