I'd like to confirm 2 things:
1) Both me and my significant other can contribute the family maximum ($8300 for 2024) to our individual health savings accounts
2) My contribution will reduce my taxable income
Yes to both.

The overall $8300 limit for a married couple does not apply to you because you aren't married. But you each have Family coverage so can each contribute $8300. This also happens sometimes with older children that are no longer tax-dependents but are still on their parent's health insurance.

Your contribution will be reported on Form 8889 and will reduce your income from any sources.
