We do have an HR, but they will only compute pensions for you when you prepare to apply, and I'm not there yet.
Does "I'm not there yet" mean that you haven't yet made the decision to retire, or does it mean that you are still working on the documentation required for a disability retirement?

I don't have any specific knowledge about your situation, but I will note that you can probably get your answer from OPM by actually applying for the disability retirement, with the intention of not retiring at this time. Of course, you can't do that unless you have the documentation needed.

As far as I know, you can always cancel your retirement up until you are actually separated. I don't see why this wouldn't apply for disability retirement as well.

I wouldn't normally suggest such a thing, but in cases where the published guidance is unclear, it would provide you with what you want to know.
