There are plenty of full time remote software development jobs, no need to move anywhere, just look for a full time remote role. I was laid off in 2022, interviewed a lot, got multiple offers, and started my new role 45 days later. All the roles I was interviewing for were full time remote. I got a pretty nice increase in total compensation as well
- The interviews for Software Development roles can be tough, but like anything it's just something that needs practice. My later interviews were much better than my earlier interviews, I made mistakes and learned from them.
- I spent the first week building a spreadsheet of jobs I would apply to, and used linked in to find anyone I knew in those companies
- The next week, I applied for all jobs in my spreadsheet all at the same time, any job I had a knew someone at I would reach out and hopefully get a referral. The reason I applied to everything at the same time was to try to line up the offers to land around the same time
- I took every interview, as long as I was sort of interested, you can always so no to an offer and interview practice really helped me
I found levels.fyi as a great resource to see typical offers at various companies, the data there is user submitted and seems inline with what I would see. Also you can search teamblind forums as well
