Why? All of that stuff is in the CPI. Are you saying that someone on a 1994 income, inflation adjusted to today, could not afford a computer or cell phone? Are you saying that only people whose income is greater than CPI could afford those things?Think back 30 years (the semi-official retirement period). By your measure, a 1994 retiree would not have a cell phone, or internet access of any type. It is quite possible such a retiree would not even own a computer (household ownership of computers was under 25% in 1994).
