We did self-guided driving tour last summer, it was an amazing trip. We flew in to Anchorage and out of Fairbanks, but drove ourself everywhere in-between.
We visited...
Anchorage, Seward, Homer, Talkeetna, Denali State Park and Denali National Park/Heeley, and finally Fairbanks.
We went hiking, fishing, sea & lake kayaking, white water rafting, took a helicopter to a glacier and plane for arial tours of Denali and so much more.
We used Alaska Tour & Travel to create a custom itinerary from the many "typical itineraries" they publish online. Not only did they help set the itinerary they booked the excursion/activities they had the best pricing on and coached us where to self-book other one. During the trip we had a couple weather challenges that impacted activities, Alaska T&T were all over rescheduling and finding alternatives or ensuring we had full refunds.
Our 2 weeks in AK was amazing, but truly it was Alaska Tour and Travel that really helped get us focused and set up with the itinerary.
