Hello,
My high schooler is a robotics fan. Part of a robotics team, enjoyed some summer programs (Arduino based custom robot building etc).
Becoming clear that tier 1 won’t be our target schools. Unweighted gpa likely in the 3.5 - 3.7 category. We are not going to be in the stellar 4.0 category.
Likely majors: mechanical engineering, perhaps robotics or aeronautical engineering.
I’m trying to narrow down college choices to something a. Kid will enjoy b. higher chance of graduating in top 30% of class and c. A good college that companies recruit from (e.g. Amazon, Tesla etc).
We have decent extra curriculars. I really want to narrow down choices so we are not in scramble mode in a years time in 11th grade.
I’m looking for a shortlist of colleges please?
E.g. I’ve heard Ohio state and Texas A&M could be good candidate colleges?
What others? I’d like to narrow it down to a list of 50 or so colleges at this point. I believe there are more than 3000 colleges in the US. Overwhelming, especially as we did not go to US colleges.
Thank you for any input.
