I am not the OP, but as I understand it, they intend to hold a "total stock market index" fund or ETF, not just the top 500 companies. Similarly they intend to hold a "total international index" fund or ETF, not one that omits emerging markets.I don't know why you would want to sell FXAIX as it is an index fund with a low expense ratio of 0.015%. Am I missing something here? You will be creating a taxable event and you want to make sure you have a good reason to do that. JMHO
