Fraudulent home loans - Someone uses your SSN to open a home improvement loan with your home as collateral. Loan amount goes directly to scammer contractor that does no work on the home. Loan gets unpaid and the lender sets up a lien on the home, all without your knowledge. To mitigate this set up alerts with the county recorder on any changes to your property records.
