Hi godot, how do you manage medical care, eg regular prescriptions? Via the US or Thai doc, or combo of both somehow?

I have an international policy with Blue Cross, $1,200 deductible. Have yet to hit that in any given year. I bring six months of meds over and a script in case I lose meds. My experience with Thai doctors & hospitals has been very good. Had a nasty virus in January and spent two hours in the ER. Tests, doctors and meds was $150. In the US that would cost around 1.5 billion dollars! JK, but you get the point.

I’m guessing you still travel from each ‘home’ destination. Anything special about how/when you plan this?

October-March I'm in the Land o Smiles.I stay up north (Lampang) until February and then down south (Songkhla) for February & March due to declining air quality (farmers burning fields) in north.

Which seasons do you choose to be in Thailand vs. US?

The north is (nominally) cooler during fall and winter. Ain't gonna lie, the heat is brutal, even during this time of year. However it's very low cost, a convenient hub from which to visit other countries in the region (Japan, Singapore, Phils, etc.), and I have a renter for my US house during these months. Most western amenities are available in Chiang Mai, a stone's throw away from Lampang, and a city loaded with westerners.
Brilliant life! Thanks so much for sharing this godot!
