What I don't do on this machine is read daily news, video conferencing, streaming movies or other entertainment, browsing sites with ads unless needed to support activities in the prior paragraph, social media, etc. Some of these activities certainly can be done securely, but having them on their own machine makes it easier, not harder to manage. Have you ever looked at how many sites your browser connects to behind the scenes when you browse a site with ads?
I know I’m unlikely to convince anyone that already has a complex multi-machine setup that it’s not necessary, or even beneficial.
I agree. That's why our setup is not at all complex.

Machine 1, my "work" machine connected to router with ethernet cable. Used for word processing, spreadsheets, sensitive account logins, etc.

Machine 2 connected to TV with HDMI cable and WiFi connection to router. Passwords for streaming services stored in browser password safe for easy login to the streaming services. Shared login to the laptop so the passwords are available to all.

Machine 3 and Phone 1 connected via WiFi and used by DW for everything she does other than financial account access. She uses machine 1 for financial account access.

Phone 2 connected by WiFi and used by me for reading daily news, social media, general browsing.
